Small Business Layoff Aversion Grants - Shenandoah Valley Workforce Investment Board plans to award 18 grants of up to $5,000 to small business employers (250 or fewer employees) in the SVWIB service region, eligible to remain open during the COVID-19 emergency. The grant is seeking innovative ideas to keep employees working.  Press Release

Virginia Small Business Finance Authority: $10,000 Microloan Program Requirements and Online Application

U.S. Small Business Administration: Federal Disaster Loans Small business owners in all U.S. states, Washington D.C., and territories are currently eligible to apply for a long term low-interest loan due to Coronavirus (COVID-19). The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program provides small businesses with working capital loans of up to $2 million that can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing. On March 27, 2020, President Trump signed into law the CARES Act, which provided additional assistance for small business owners and non-profits, including the opportunity to get up to a $10,000 Advance on an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). If you wish to apply for the Advance on your EIDL, please visit www.SBA.gov/Disaster as soon as possible to fill out the new, streamlined application. In order to qualify for the Advance, you need to submit this new application even if you previously submitted an EIDL application. State Extension Option for Filing & Payment of February 2020 Sales Tax
Businesses impacted by coronavirus can request an extension of the due date for filing and payment of their February 2020 sales tax return due March 20, 2020, for 30 days. When granted, businesses will be able to file and pay no later than April 20, 2020 with a waiver of any penalties. Verizon Small Business Recovery Fund
Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) will use funding from Verizon to provide grants of up to $10,000 to businesses facing immediate financial pressure because of COVID-19—especially entrepreneurs of color, women-owned businesses and other enterprises in historically underserved communities who don’t have access to flexible, affordable capital.
